VERDUGO GLEN CHAPTER

Our History The Verdugo Glen chapter is a local branch of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA). On June 27, 1963, Verdugo Glen was chartered in Glendale and continues to be a significant part of the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valley communities. We are also a member of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce.

ABWA Verdugo Glen Chapter was honored at the 2010 National Women's Leadership Confernce with a Best Practices Award
in Group Management - an annual achievement by only 59 chapters or 10% of the ABWA chapters.

Community Service Verdugo Glen chapter members are active participants in many philanthropic projects in the community. Kiwanis, Burbank Boys and Girls Club, Rotary Clubs, Salvation Army's Angel Tree, La Providencia Guild of Children's Hospital, Emblem Clubs of the Elks and Glendale Beautiful are a few of these organizations.

Networking An important part of belonging to ABWA is the networking opportunities. Whether one already has a business or is interested in starting one, networking is the way to go. At each monthly meeting, time is set aside for members to network with each other and promote their businesses. Verdugo Glen belongs to the Los AngelesArea Council (LAAC), Impact Council and Inland Valley Council which allow the members to network with other chapters from all over the greater Southern California area.

In addition, the Chapter is an active participant in the Orange County and Los Angeles "Largest Mixers", area State Legislator's "Women in Business" luncheon and other community events.
